There are so many golf training products available that you probably don't know which one to buy. First, you need to know why you need them and what type of golf training products you may need. Many golfers spend too much money on golf aids without seeing any progress in their game.
Maybe you don't have a particular problem with your game; you just want to improve certain aspects of it. For example - more distance, accuracy, consistency, or maybe you want to get into golf strength training because you know that when you are fit for golf you can have a better all round game.
First, you might not need golf training equipment; instead you could start checking out a few golf guides (eBooks) or golf DVD's that deal with a specific topic that may help you. There are many good eBooks and DVD's on helping you with your golf swing, how to fix a slice, golf stretching exercises, golf fitness programs, or general golf lessons. If you decide that you would rather have a physical golf training product, then here are the different categories available:
Full Swing Training Aids : This category is full of training aids but not all of them are good solutions for the complete golf swing. The top choices in this category would have to be the hinged golf clubs such as the Medicus Dual Hinge clubs or the Refiner hinged training clubs. Another good option is the Leadbetter Swing Setter which helps with your grip, release, tempo, and swing plane. Alternatively, try weighted golf clubs from Momentus or a full swing trainer by Explaner.
Golf Fitness Training Aids : These products should be considered by all golfers because once you are fit for golf you will see a marked improvement in your golf game. The leader in this category is the GolfGym range of fitness training products. Weighted golf clubs are also another excellent way to build up your golf specific muscles as well as increase your flexibility. The Explaner that I mentioned before uses a weighted roller that also tones up your golf muscles and range of movement.
Golf Grip Training Aids : You can't have a great golf swing without having a good golf grip, so golf grip training aids are very useful if you are not comfortable with your grip. Some of the most popular of these aids are golf gloves that are specially designed to teach you the proper grip and pressure every time and a specially shaped grip that fits on top of your normal grip. If you want to strengthen the muscles of your hands and wrists, there are also grip aids designed for that.
Putting Training Aids : As putting is such an important part of the game of golf, you will find dozens of different putting aids available. These range from aids that help you with your tempo to laser devices to help your alignment. There are also a bunch of putting tracks and guides for alignment as well as braces to teach you the proper position for your forearms and hands while putting.
These are the top 4 categories of golf training products. The other categories are all more focused on specifics of the golf swing - swing plane, alignment, golf tempo, weight transfer, balance, release, impact position, and short game training aids. As you can appreciate, there is a very specific golf training product for each specific area of the golf game. Just remember to buy only the golf training aid that specifically trains you in the area of the golf game that you need to improve.
